4Children welcomes the publication of the new Parent’s Guide to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework
“By highlighting how everyday activities support a child’s learning and development, the new Parenting Guide offers both reassurance and guidance to all parents in the upbringing of their child”
Commenting on the publication today of the new Parents Guide within the suite of material to support the revised EYFS, Anne Longfield OBE, 4Children Chief Executive said:
“The new Parent’s Guide offers clear, informative and accessible guidance to parents, on the EYFS Framework as well as highlighting the essential role that parents play in their child’s early development.
“The Guide offers advice as to what parents can expect from the EYFS Framework and how they can best support the development of their child throughout the important Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (age 0-5), as well as preparing their children for their future learning and development.
“We welcome this publication as a fantastic tool which enables parents to recognise the importance of their day-to-day interaction with their children as well as giving tips for how to enhance play led education in the home.
“The Guide helps draw attention to and to enhance the educational activities many parents already undertake with their children whilst also highlighting how parents can keep in touch with their child’s learning and development under professional care.
“The importance of the Early Years Foundation Stage cannot be underestimated for a child’s future outcomes and parents play the crucial role in these early years.
“By highlighting how everyday activities from talking to and reading to a child from birth, baking together, and storytelling support a child’s learning and development, the Guide offers both reassurance and guidance to all parents in the upbringing of their child.”
